Land Use Act Amendment Advocacy Group [LUAAAG] is a non-governmental, non-partisan, and non-profit Group concerned about the denials of access to land and the declining rate of housing provision in the country. The group’s basic objectives are to seek for the removal of the Land Use Act of 1978 from the 1999 Nigerian Constitution, to advocate for an urgent review of the Land Use Act as a key strategy for expanding access to land and affordable housing, and a critical step forward to Nigeria’s achievement of the laudable intentions set out in the Millennium Development Goals [MDGs] and lastly to campaign for the creation of an enabling environment for the housing development sector to thrive, and for creating wealth for all.

It is in pursuance of these objectives that the group convened a roundtable, on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, to unveiled its programs and converged the views of relevant stakeholders on the viable approaches in ensuring the success of the campaign.

The Group is made up of Urban Spaces Innovation [USI] represented by Lookman Oshodi, Social and Economic Rights Action Center [SERAC],Mortgage Banking Association of Nigeria [MBAN],Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers [NIESV], Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria [REDAN],Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry [LCCI]and Pison Housing Company
